Biography

Mr. Sofaer has extensive experience as a judge and arbitrator. He served as a District Judge in the SDNY from 1979 to 1985, and as The Legal Adviser to the US Department of State from 1985 to 1990, with appearances in the ICJ and international fora. Thereafter he has handled over 100 arbitrations, some involving over $1 billion at issue, involving many fields of law, especially insurance, contracts, and intellectual property.
