CALARB’S COMMITMENT TO DIVERSITY, INCLUSION, EQUITY, AND BELONGING

California’s status at the forefront of innovation, international commerce, and culture is intrinsically tied to the vibrant diversity of its population. From the earliest days of our statehood, California has been a wellspring of new ideas and creative solutions. Immigrants, dreamers, and visionaries alike have alighted on our shores.  The legacy of the pioneers who forged the can-do Californian attitude is evident today in our innovative industries, and our thought leadership on issues of global consequence influence the world.

Similarly, the international arbitration and mediation community is, by its very essence, global in scope and mindset, bringing together a wide range of people, cultures, experiences, and business approaches from all corners of the world. This diverse professional community is characterized by mutual respect and collegiality, and is united in the commitment to the peaceful resolution of international disputes.

As the voice of California International Arbitration and ADR, CalArb has diversity embedded in its DNA. We are committed to nurturing an inclusive community that reflects the diversity of both California and the practice of international arbitration and mediation.  We will build on these innate strengths to further foster diversity, equity, inclusion, and a profound sense of belonging for every member within our organization, and in our initiatives, outreach activities, and in our external relations and civic engagements. CalArb strives to create an environment that values and promotes professionalism, respect and dignity for all, regardless of race, ethnicity, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, religious belief, or age. We appreciate the dynamic range of backgrounds and experiences of both our members and various colleagues around the world that we collaborate with, and the value that this brings to our organization and our endeavors.
