Biography

Arleo is the Managing Partner of Magtibay Angeles & Alfelor Law Offices (Magtibay Law), a Firm based in the Philippines. His primary areas of practice are dispute resolution, intellectual property, and sports and entertainment law.

He is a Trustee, the Executive Director, and Deputy Secretary General of the Philippine Dispute Resolution Center, Inc. (PDRCI); Chair of its Secretariat Committee, Vice-Chair of the Committee on Sports Arbitration, Vice-Chair of the Mediation and Negotiation Committee, and part of the Rules Revision Committee.

He is a member of the Supreme Court of the Philippines’ Technical Working Group on Pleadings, Practice, and Procedure (TWG-PPP).

Arleo has appeared as counsel, and has served as mediator and arbitrator in commercial and sports related disputes. He is an accredited arbitrator, mediator, and negotiator of the Department of Justice - Office for Alternative Dispute Resolution; an International Hearing Officer of the National Arbitration and Mediation (New York); and included in the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Arbitration and Mediation Center's List of Mediators and Arbitrators.

He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), California Arbitration (CalArb), and Society of Construction Lawyers of the Philippines (SCLP). He served as the inaugural Assistant Vice President for Special Interest Groups - Sports of the Philippine Institute of Arbitrators (PIArb).

He earned his Master of Laws degree, with a certificate of specialization in law and technology, from University of California, Berkeley – School of Law; his Juris Doctor degree from Ateneo de Manila Law School; and his Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Secondary Education degrees from the University of the Philippines, Diliman.
