Biography

Partner at White & Case focused on business dispute resolution, product counseling, and corporate strategy. Over two decades of experience advising multinational corporations and sovereign clients, resolving complex, high-stakes disputes through arbitration and litigation. Widely recognized for creative solutions and persuasive submissions that simplify complicated facts and legal issues.

I represent clients across a wide range of industries, including:
• Major infrastructure projects to reconstruct the Panama Canal, dredge large waterways, and build solar power plants, telecommunications networks, and a new airport terminal
• Mining and mineral concessions for gold, silver, copper, and other metals
• Electronic advertising technologies
• Cryptocurrency trading platforms
• Energy and power projects relating to fuel and electricity distribution
• Projects to manufacture textiles, cement, and industrial chemicals
• Duty-free and retail operations

I handle mass claims under consumer agreements, investor-State cases under investment treaties, and disputes arising out of construction contracts, licenses, joint ventures, share purchases, and shareholder agreements.

I counsel one of the world's largest technology companies on international privacy compliance for core products like Pixel, CAPI, and other advertising tools. I collaborate across legal, business, and engineering teams to develop compliance strategies under privacy laws and cookie regulations, including the GDPR and ePrivacy Directive.

I revise and provide guidance to C-Suite and Board members on public company disclosures in press releases, financial statements, and annual reports. I work with world-leading experts and stakeholders on due diligence, technical issues, and risks such as supply chain, red flags of corruption, public consultation, and social license. I draft arbitration agreements, revise terms of service and privacy policies, and strategize with clients on structuring investments to optimize dispute risk.

Beyond my legal practice, I am an arbitrator on the AAA-ICDR's International Panel of Arbitrators and a leader of California's arbitration community. I am a founding member of California Arbitration (CalArb) and serve as its First Vice President, with an active role on its Executive Committee and Board. I also teach advocacy in international arbitration as a Senior Lecturing Fellow at Duke Law School, and have lectured at the University of Chicago, Harvard, Penn, Berkeley, USC, and Miami.
