Biography

Joe McArthur, KC, FCIArb, C.Arb practices arbitration as both counsel and arbitrator. Joe is a partner at the Canadian law firm Blakes and works out of Blakes' Vancouver office. He regularly appears in ad hoc and institutional domestic and international arbitrations as arbitration counsel and sits as arbitrator. Joe's arbitration experience is over a range of industries including mining, infrastructure, utilities, financial services and technology.

He is also Chair of the Board of the Vancouver International Arbitration Centre (VanIAC), a member of the ICC Canadian Arbitration Committee, the American Arbitration Association's International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR) Panel of Arbitrators, the panel of neutrals of the International Institute for Conflict Prevention & Resolution (CPR), and the Domestic and International Arbitration Panels of the VanIAC.

Joe is a King's Counsel, a Fellow and Chartered Arbitrator of the Chartered Institution of Arbitrators and a Fellow of the Canadian College of Construction Law.
