Biography
Lisa W. Timmons is a full-time neutral with extensive experience in labor, employment, and commercial matters. Serving as an arbitrator, mediator, hearing officer, and fact-finder, she works across both public and private sectors, resolving complex workplace and business disputes.
Timmons serves on the rosters of the American Arbitration Association (AAA), Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS), the Labor Relations Connection (LRC), the National Mediation Board, New Era ADR, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), and many state and municipal labor boards. She is a standing arbitrator for the American Postal Workers Union (APWU), the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC), and the United States Postal Service (USPS), and has mediated over 1,500 cases through the USPS REDRESS Program.
Timmons has a Juris Doctor cum laude from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and a Master of Arts in Dispute Resolution from Wayne State University.
She is the Deputy Executive Director of Professional Resolution Experts of Michigan (PREMi), Immediate Past Chair of the ADR Section of the State Bar of Michigan (2024-2025), Co-Chair of the ABA Section of Dispute Resolution's Mediation Committee (2025–2026), and Neutral Co-Chair of the ABA’s State and Local Government and Bargaining Employees Committee of the Labor and Employment Section (2025-2028).
As a former adjunct professor at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, Timmons regularly writes and speaks on ADR topics. She is the current Editor of The Michigan Dispute Resolution Journal and a contributing author for the Michigan State Bar's Labor and Employment Law Section.
